Resume: Last evening Troopers responded to the area of Route 4 and Harmony Road for a pedestrian related crash.

A 1996 Saturn SL sedan (operated by Mark R. Platt, 50, of New Castle, DE) exited the parking lot of the Harmony Plaza.  The Saturn made an immediately left onto Route 4 and was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes.

As the Saturn approached Harmony Road, it struck a pedestrian- Michael W. Hobbs, 50, of New Castle, DE- who was crossing Route 4.  Mr. Hobbs was transported from the scene to Christiana Hospital where he was last listed in stable condition.

The area Mr. Hobbs was crossing the roadway was not a marked crosswalk, however, this stretch of Route 4 was, and is, currently under construction.  Investigators have yet to determine in which direction Mr. Hobbs was crossing the road or what his destination final was.

Mr. Platt was released and his court date is pending in reference to these charges.
