DSP News Release: Monday, June 01, 2009- Burglary Suspect Apprehended Inside Bear Area Eatery

 

Location of Incident: Lestardo’s Restaurant, 1466 Pulaski Highway, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, June 01, 2009, at approximately 3:12 a.m.

 

Suspect(s): Mark C. Hobbs, 44, of West Wind Road in Bear, Delaware

 

Resume: At approximately 3:12 a.m. this morning, Troopers were dispatched to Lestardo’s Restaurant, on Pulaski Highway, in reference to a burglary alarm.  

 

Officers arrived on the scene and found the front glass door was smashed out.  Troopers entered the business and located Mark C. Hobbs holding a box of items he was preparing to pilfer.  He was taken into custody without incident and found to have also been in possession of gloves and a ski mask.

 

Hobbs was transported back to Troop 2 where he was turned over to Burglary Unit detectives.  He was later formally charged with the following offenses: Burglary 3rd (felony) and Theft (felony). 

 

Bail was set at $581.00 secured and Hobbs was ordered held by the Department of Corrections.
