DSP News Release: Friday, July 31, 2009- Serious Injury Crash on Grubb Road (originally released July 30th)
North Wilmington- The following outlines that crash originally reported last evening on Grubb Road.
Stacey Helmer, 21, of Wilmington, Delaware, was operating a 2005 Ford Escape.
Patrick Lamb, 27, of New Castle, Delaware, was operating a 1997 Ford F150.
Thee Escape was traveling westbound on Grubb Road approaching Richards Lane. The F150 was traveling eastbound approaching the Escape.
The F150 entered the westbound lanes and the vehicles collided head-on. Both vehicles ended up in the grassy area adjacent to the roadway.
Patrick Lamb was cited with Careless Driving and No Proof of Insurance.
Original DSP News Release: Thursday, July 30, 2009- Serious Injury Crash on Grubb Road
Location: Grubb Road at Kings Ridge Drive (also Richards Lane ), North Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County
Date of Occurrence: Thursday, July 30, 2009, at approximately 8:42 p.m.
Resume: State Police and emergency personnel are currently on the scene of a serious injury crash on Grubb Road at Kings Ridge Drive. This crash involved two vehicles, a car and a truck, and this was a head-on collision.
Preliminary reports from the scene have indicated that two subjects were injured and both have been transported to Christiana Hospital. One subject’s condition is considered life threatening.
This investigation is currently underway and the details surrounding this crash will be made available to the public tomorrow.
