DSP News Release: Thursday, July 30, 2009- Early Morning Crash Impacts Traffic on Limestone Road

 

Location: Route 7, Limestone Road, north of Valley Road in Hockessin, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date of Occurrence: Thursday, July 30, 2009, at approximately 2:30 a.m.

 

Resume: At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, a 2001 VW sedan was traveling northbound on Route 7 when a domestic incident ensued inside the vehicle. 

 

The 19-year-old female driver advised officers that her boyfriend became enraged during a verbal dispute.  She advised that he assaulted her and that he grabbed the steering wheel of the car.  The suspect allegedly jerked the wheel hard to the right which resulted in the VW striking a utility off of the west edge of the roadway. 

 

After the vehicle came to a rest, the suspect fled the scene on foot.  He has not been located. 

 

The driver of the VW is a victim in this case and thus she will not be identified.  Also, warrants have not been completed as of yet for the21-year-old suspect so his name will provided at a later time.
