The Headline: Monday, July 27, 2009- Attempted Robbery at Newark Area Exxon
Location: Exxon, 4600 Ogletown Road, Newark, Delaware 19713
Date of Occurrence: Sunday, July 26th, 2009, at 12:52 a.m.
Suspect(s): White male, mid-twenties, 5'6" to 5'8", clean shaven, thin to average build, black sweatpants and red hooded sweatshirt
Resume: Detectives from the Delaware State Police Robbery Squad at Troop 2 are investigating an attempted robbery from Sunday morning.
At approximately 12:52 a.m., a male suspect entered the Exxon, located on Route 4 at Harmony Road, and approached the service counter. This subject brandished a knife and jumped the counter. He tried unsuccessfully to pry open the register with the knife. Frustrated and empty handed, the bandit fled the store on foot.
