DSP News Release: Thursday, July 23, 2009- at 1:15 p.m.

Pharmacy Robbery Probed

 

Location of IncidentRite Aid Pharmacy, 636 South Maryland Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009, at approximately 1:40 p.m.

 

Suspect(s):  White male, mid-twenties, 5'8” - 5'10”, thin build, freckles, blonde/strawberry hair, green baseball cap, off-white / beige t-shirt, gray shorts, clean shaven, who possibly fled the scene in a gray pickup truck

 

Resume:  Shortly before 2:00 p.m. yesterday, Troopers were called to the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Maryland Avenue for a robbery call.

 

This investigation revealed a white male suspect entered the store and approached the pharmacy counter.  The bandit handed a note to the clerk which demanded the narcotic Oxycodone.  The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of the drug. 

 

The suspect possibly fled the scene southbound on Middleboro Road towards the Delaware Military Academy.
