Overturned Tractor Trailer Affects Traffic Flow on I-95 Ramp

 

Location of Incident: I-95 southbound at Route 141, New Castle, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at approximately 3:00 p.m.

 

Resume: Troopers are currently on the scene of a single vehicle crash on I-95 southbound at the Route 141 northbound off ramp.

 

Dawit Andemarian, 49, of Columbus, Ohio, who was operating a 2002 Freightliner tractor-trailer, hauling bananas, was traveling I-95 southbound and exited onto the Route 141 northbound off ramp.  The operator lost control and the truck overturned.  Mr. Andemarian sustained a minor injury and refused medical attention. 

 

None of the cargo was released.

 

Motorists should seek alternative routes and traffic is expected to only get by intermittently until the wreckage is cleared.  This is going to take several hours.
