Date and Time of Occurrence: July 15th, 2009, at 12:30 a.m.
Suspect(s): Charles M. Fax, Jr., 24, of Willow Grove Mill in Middletown, Delaware
Resume: Shortly after midnight on this day, members of the Governor’s Task Force (Troopers and Probation and Parole Officers), were in the area of Old Baltimore Pike and Sunset Lake Road when a unit member conducted a computer check on the registration plate of a 2003 Honda Accord. This records check revealed the Honda had an expired registration.
A traffic stop ensued and the car pulled over without incident. The operator was identified as Charles M. During this contact with Mr. Fax, the investigating Trooper could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the Honda. A check of the vehicle revealed a Sentry Safe behind the driver’s seat. Inside the safe, investigators located approximately 10 pounds of suspected marijuana.
Mr. Fax was arrested and transported back to Troop 2 where he was formally charged with the following offenses: Trafficking Marijuana (felony), Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana (felony), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping Controlled Substances (felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor), Driving While Suspended and Expired Tags (both traffic violations).
