Updated DSP News Release: Tuesday, July 14, 2009- Whereabouts of Pursuit Suspect Sought
Wilmington- At approximately 9:20 a.m. this morning, Troopers were conducting a seatbelt checkpoint on Harvey Road at Lincoln Avenue, in Wilmington, when a 2002 Buick approached the officers.
The Buick stopped and began to back up. This car actually backed up about a block-and-a-half before Troopers got it stopped. The driver was identified as Kendrick Johnson, 18, of East 28th Street in Wilmington.
The passenger was identified as the suspect wanted for the pursuit outlined below- Teeo Mortin. He was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 1. He was arraigned and released on a $3,000.00 unsecured bond.
Mr. Johnson was charged with the following offenses: Improper Backing, No Insurance and Disorderly Conduct.

DSP News Release: Monday, July 13, 2009- Whereabouts of Pursuit Suspect Sought
Location of Incident: Route 4 in Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County
Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, July 13, 2009, at approximately 2:00 a.m.
Suspect(s): Teeo T. Morton, 19, of East 35th Street in Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County
Resume: Troopers are seeking the publics’ help in locating Teeo T. Morton for his role in a vehicle pursuit that took place early this morning.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., a Troop 6 patrol officer was traveling on Route 4 in the area of DuPont Road when a vehicle passed him, heading eastbound, at an apparent high rate of speed. The Trooper turned around and caught up with the vehicle in question on Route 4 near Broom Street. This vehicle was a 2006 Hyundai Sonata which displayed a registration plate actually belonging on a Mercury Marnier.
The officer initiated a traffic stop by activating his lights and siren. The Hyundai refused to stop and the operator accelerated in an attempt to get away. The operator of the Hyundai lost control and struck a parked car on West 11th Street and then a front porch on West 9th Street. The vehicle came to a stop on West 9th and the operator fled on foot eluding capture. He was later identified as Teeo T. Morton.
Warrants are currently on file charging Mr. Morton with felony Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal, misdemeanor Reckless Endangering and Resisting Arrest and a host of other traffic charges.
