For Immediate Release:  Saturday, July 11, 2009 - State Police Probe a Pair of Robberies

 

Location of Incident: Walmart, 1251 Centerville Road, Wilmington

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Friday, July 10, 2009 at approximately 12:21 p.m.

 

Suspect: White male, 20 to 25 years old, 5-04 to 5-06, 150-160 lbs., average build, wearing a black baseball cap and a black Polo style shirt with red, white, and black stripes.

 

Resume: In the early afternoon of Friday, State Troopers were called to the Walmart on Centerville Road for a report of a Robbery.  In this incident, a white male suspect entered the store and approached the customer service counter.  The suspect, who was holding a plastic bag, began to argue with the customer service representative about the bag.  The clerk, who at the time was counting money from a cash drawer, was startled when the male reached across the counter and forcibly removed the undisclosed amount of cash from her hands and ran out of the store.  It is unknown which direction the subject last seen fleeing.

Location of Incident:  Sunoco Gas Station, 2650 Capitol Trail, Newark

 

Date and Time of Occurrence:  Friday, July 10, 2009 at approximately 10:30 p.m.

 

Suspect(s):  Two white males, 20-25 years old, 5-08 to 5-11, wearing white T-shirts and multi-colored ski masks.  One individual was in possession of a silver handgun.

 

Resume:  State Troopers were called to the Sunoco Gas Station on Capitol Trail for a report of an armed Robbery.  In this incident, two white males entered the store and approached the lone store clerk who was in the back office.  One of the suspects pointed a silver colored revolver at the clerk and demanded money. When the clerk informed the bandit he didn't have any, a struggle ensued causing the clerk to sustain a cut to his forehead.  The Robbers then fled the store without and money running southbound towards the Eastburn Acres development.

 

No video or photo surveillance is available in this incident.
