Glasgow- After the initial investigation it has been determined that this crash involved just one vehicle- a motorcycle. 

 

David W. Furrowh, 49, of New Castle, was operating his 2003 BidD motorcycle westbound on Route 40 approaching the intersection with Route 896.  He was riding along with a family member who was on another bike.  Mr. Furrowh turned right onto Route 896 northbound and failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway at which time he traveled off of the roadway and struck a guardrail. 

 

Mr. Furrowh was ejected from the bike.  The motorcycle turned end over end and traveled approximately 200’ before stopping. 

 

David Furrowh was pronounced dead at the scene. 

 

Traffic flow was impacted for approximately 3 hours. 

 

This crash remains under investigation.  Witnesses are requested to call the Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit at  302-834-2620, ext 278.
