Updated DSP News Release #3: Monday, August 10, 2009- Crash on Old Corbit Road Now a Fatal Crash
Middletown- The subject who died in yesterday’s crash is identified as 25-year-old Daniel Worden of Newark, Delaware.
This crash remains under investigation.

Updated DSP News Release #2: Monday, August 10, 2009- Crash on Old Corbit Road Now a Fatal Crash
Middletown- 39 year old Tara Dalik of Middletown was operating her 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan southbound on Old Corbit Road.
A 2007 Suzuki (operated by a 25-year-old Newark man who’s name will be released tomorrow 8/11/09) was traveling northbound on Old Corbit Road, popping a wheelie, and approached a slower moving vehicle from behind. The operator of the bike lowered the front wheel back down and accelerated as the motorcycle began to pass the slower vehicle to the left on this two lane road.
The van and the motorcycle were now approaching each other head on. The operator of the van applied her brakes and came to a sudden stop. The operator of the bike dropped the motorcycle down on its side on the ground and began to slide on the wet roadway. The two vehicles then collided.
The motorcycle operator was ejected from the bike. He was wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ms. Dalik was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.

Updated DSP News Release #1: Monday, August 10, 2009- Crash on Old Corbitt Road Now a Fatal Crash
Location: Old Corbit Road at Black Duck Court, Middletown, Delaware, New Castle County
Date of Occurrence: Monday, August 10, 2009, at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Resume: The crash on Old Corbit Road has been listed as a fatal crash.
Detectives are still in the middle of their preliminary investigation. The roadway is now open. A more complete release will be forthcoming later this evening.

Preliminary Release-
The Delaware State Police and emergency personnel are currently on the scene of a serious vehicle crash with reported life threatening injuries. The location is Old Corbitt Road at Black Duck Court in southern New Castle County.
Motorists should avoid the area.
A more complete release will be forthcoming when new details are known and confirmed.
