DSP News Release: Friday, April 24, 2009, Vitamin Shoppe Employee Charged with Internal Theft

 

Location of Incident: Vitamin Shoppe, 4609 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: January 1, 2009 – April 15th, 2009

 

Suspect(s): Deeanna J. Custis, 30, of Capitol Trail in Newark, Delaware

 

Resume: Yesterday, Troop 1 patrol officers were called to the Vitamin Shoppe on Concord Pike for the report of an internal theft. 

 

In this case, authorities learned that since the beginning of the year, Deeanna Custis, who was an employee of the Vitamin Shoppe, had been executing false returns and pocketing the difference.  In all, investigators believe she stole over $2,800.  In order to cover her tracks, Ms. Custis forged documents. 

 

Yesterday afternoon, warrants were completed charging Ms. Deeanna Custis with Theft (felony) and Forgery (misdemeanor).  She was released on a $5000.00 unsecured bond.
