DSP News Release: Thursday, April 23, 2009- Single Vehicle Crash Leaves New Jersey Man in Critical Condition

 

Location of Incident: I-95 southbound at I-295, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County

 

Date and Time of Occurrence: Thursday, April 23, 2009, at approximately 9:22 a.m.

 

Resume: Troopers are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred this morning that has left a New Jersey man in critical condition at Christiana Hospital.

 

Ralph Charlton, 19, of Bridgeton, New Jersey, was operating his 1999 Chevrolet Camaro on I-95 southbound in the left lane.  For an unknown reason, the Camaro traveled off of the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The vehicle spun and overturned. 

 

Mr. Charlton was transported from the scene to Christiana Hospital where he was last listed in critical condition. 

 

Charges have not been filed at this time.  Traffic was impacted for approximately one hour.
