Resume: Earlier today, Troopers responded to Philadelphia Pike at Holly Oak Road for the report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.

This investigation revealed a DART bus was traveling northbound on Philadelphia Pike when it came to a stop at Holly Oak Road.  Strangely, a female rider, later identified as Amber Colatriano, 27, of Claymont, literally ran off of the bus and then into the northbound lanes of Philadelphia Pike.  Ms. Colatriano crossed directly into the path of a 2002 Toyota Camry, operated by Arthur Grier, 77, of Wilmington.  The Toyota had the right of way.

The Toyota struck Ms. Colatriano, tossing her approximately 50’ and onto the ground.

After the initial impact, Mr. Grier traveled off of the roadway where he struck a utility pole.

Mr. Grier sustained a non-life threatening injury.

Ms. Colatriano sustained a serious, but non-life threatening head injury.  She was cited with being Drunk on the Highway.

Hospital information is not available at this time.
