Business Owner Rents Space for Party...Gun Shots Ring Out Injuring 30-Year Old
Newark – On Friday, April 10th, 2009, shortly before 12:30 am, Delaware State Troopers responded to Separation Methods Technologie Inc., located at 31 Blue Hen Drive, for a shooting.
The investigation revealed that the business owners rented out a portion of the office space located on the second floor for an Easter/Spring Break Party. The individuals renting the space advertised for the function at local high schools attracting between 120-200 individuals to the location.
At approximately 12:15 am a physical altercation broke out when the party organizers ordered the place to be cleared out.
As the party organizer was securing the front door of the building an unknown black male produced a firearm and shot several rounds into the sky. The suspect fired a final round at the front door, shattering the front door and striking the 30-year old victim from Wilmington in the eye.
The victim was privately transported to Christiana Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
At the present time the investigation is on-going.
The Delaware State Police urges anyone with information pertaining to this case to contact Troop 2 at (302) 834-2630 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
