DSP News Release: Wednesday, May 20, 2009- Magnolia Man Charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child
Location of Incident: Mabel Drive in Magnolia, Delaware, Kent County
Date and Time of Occurrence: Various times in recent months
Suspect(s):Richard B. Parson, 66, of Mabel Drive in Magnolia, Delaware
Resume: Detectives from Troop 3 in Woodside have arrested a Magnolia man, Richard Parson, for allegedly sexually assaulting a family member (who is a female under the age of 10) in recent months.
This investigation came to light after the victim was able to tell an adult Parson had touched her in an inappropriate manner, on multiple occasions, over a period of time. The acts allegedly took place at Parson’s home.
Richard B. Parson was charged yesterday with a single count of Continual Sexual Abuse of a Child (felony), seven counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact (felony), seven counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (felony) and twelve counts of Offensive Touching (misdemeanor). He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $89,000.00.
