DSP News Release: Wednesday, June 17, 2009- Photographs from Strong Arm Robbery Obtained
Location of Incident: Gulf Station, 1104 South State Street, Dover, Delaware, Kent County
Date of Occurrence: June 4, 2009, at approximately 8:40 p.m.
Suspect(s): black male, 25 – 45 years old, 5’02” to 5’05” tall, 150 – 170 pounds wearing a striped shirt and blue jeans
Resume: State Police detectives from Troop 3 have obtained surveillance photographs from a June 4th strong arm robbery.
This investigation revealed a male suspect entered the Gulf Station on South State Street and obtained a piece of candy from display. The subject approached the service counter to pay for the item. He took a dollar bill from his pocket and presented it to the clerk. When the 40-year-old female clerk opened the register to make change, the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed money from the till.
The clerk tried unsuccessfully to stop the bandit from taking the money. The suspect then fled the store on foot in an unknown direction.
